Our interactive post-conference workshops give attendees a hands-on introduction to topics that augment our understanding of point of care safety.
The unSUMMIT 2010 Post-Conference Workshop*
Hands On and Heads Up: An unSUMMIT Lab Practical on Enabling Technologies for BPOC
After absorbing the unSUMMIT educational program, this workshop is the perfect opportunity to begin sculpting your BPOC implementations. Industry experts and a panel of hospital-based trailblazers who have been there and done that will discuss “make or break” issues they’ve conquered in forming their masterpieces (or works in progress!).
Then give your ears a break and interact with the enabling technologies – carts, scanners, printers, etc… – required to complete the picture.
Upon completing this session, attendees will be able to:
- Outline the critical success factors in BPOC implementation.
- List the pros and cons of various approaches to barcode scanning, mobile computing, printing labels, point-of-care computing deployment (cart vs. wallmount), medication packaging and patient identification technologies.
- Identify real-world considerations in selecting enabling technologies.
- Prepare “take-home” messages, including considerations in preparing your budget.
*Interactive, hands-on technology—NOT available for CE credit.
